Shizuka Anderson visits Yoichi City in Hokkaido, the northernmost prefecture of Japan, for a Japanese food and wine pairing at Hotel LOOP. Located between mountains and the sea, Yoichi has a suitable climate to produce wine on par with Champagne and Burgundy. Shizuka indulges her senses with Yoichi’s exquisite wines paired with fresh local cuisine, like local pork and Yezo sika deer, a type of venison that’s indigenous to Hokkaido.
