The Latin aphorism ‘Bacchus amat colles’ translates as ‘Bacchus loves the hills’, and was an old adage of the Romans signalling the affinity of grape growing and hillsides. It’s as true today as it ever was, and much of the world’s most exciting viticulture occurs on steep slopes, impressive mountainsides and at high altitudes.
In this event, we bring together some of the most exciting producers we work with to explore their experiences of growing vines and making wine in these sometimes arduous but very often rewarding conditions.
The producers invited to this event are below. You can also find a list of some wines they produce beneath and you are welcome to buy any of them to enjoy whilst you listen to the discussion.
